Mahtab Keshmiri

Research Associate

Mahtab (she/her) lives in Ottawa, Ontario, which is located on the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation’s unsurrendered traditional territories.

Before coming to Canada, Mahtab was an English Language teacher in Iran. Since arriving in Ottawa in 2019, she has been actively involved in the community by volunteering and working in front-line settlement services, literacy promoting programs, and language teaching. Her Master’s degrees in English and Applied Linguistics and Discourse Studies give her an in-depth understanding of the power of language in bringing about social change.

At YellowTree, Mahtab works closely with clients to understand their funding needs and conducts meticulous prospect research to determine the best funding sources for their programming. She also conducts research to find reliable and relevant evidence to support the highest quality grant applications. She is a member of the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA).

Mahtab loves spending time outdoors and keeps lots of plants at home. She paints and takes photographs of the wonderous natural outdoor beauty she feels blessed with having access to and does her best to preserve it for the next generations.
